Looking to encourage local economic growth while being conservation minded?   You may be interested in the Penn Soil Resource Conservation and Development Council (Penn Soil RC&D).  Penn Soil RC&D Council is a 501-c-3 Not-for-Profit Corporation.  The mission of this organization is to provide the local leadership necessary to develop and implement a plan that will improve the economy, environmental and social well-being of the people through accelerated planning and development of the natural resources in the project area consisting of Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango and Warren Counties of northwest PA. This eight-county council operated by a coordinator, officers and members began in 1964, in which each county has two members-at-large appointed jointly by the County Commissioners and the County Conservation District. Additionally, two members one commissioner representative and one conservation district representative is appointed to serve.
