PAG 02 Update & Notice of Termination Information

PAG-02 Re-issuance DEP has announced the availability of the reissued PAG-02 General Permit  for Discharges of Stormwater Associated with Construction Activities (2024 PAG-02). The existing (2019) PAG-02 General Permit expires on December 7, 2024. All existing permittees that wish to remain covered under the 2024 PAG-02 must submit a renewal NOI (3800-PM-BCW0405h) to the office.. read more →

2024 Patty Runnels Women in Science Scholarship is Awarded

The Crawford County Conservation District announces Meadville resident Cailey Metter as the 2024 “Patty Runnels Women in Science Scholarship” recipient. Ms. Metter is a Biology Major at Vassar College.
This $500.00 Scholarship is given in honor of former Meadville resident Patty Runnels and funded by her family. Patty was active for about 40 years in the EASI (Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement) group and later CCSEC (Crawford County Senior Environmental Corps), where she acted as Secretary for the members, working alongside her husband Dick Runnels. CCSEC, a water quality monitoring group, was administered through the Crawford County Conservation District, where monthly meetings were held and water testing events and macroinvertebrate studies took place.
Patty enjoyed volunteering at the Woodcock Creek Nature Center, assisting with some student field trips and environmental education programs. Additionally, she lent a hand at Allegheny College Creek Connections symposiums, as well as with Woodcock Lake and Pymatuning fish habitat building projects and annual Linesville Fish Hatchery open house events.

Patty Runnels Women in Science Scholarship

The Crawford County Conservation District is accepting applications for the “Patty Runnels Women in Science Scholarship” through June 10, 2024. The $500 scholarship is awarded on behalf of Mrs. Runnels’ family to a Crawford County student who is pursuing a college degree in a science discipline. The “Tenacious Turtles” Envirothon team from CASH (Conneaut Area Senior High) won First Place at the Crawford County Envirothon held on May 1, 2024 at the Crawford County Conservation District.
